Wait! You did Whaaat?

In 2021, I moved from a comfy San Francisco Bay Area lifestyle and Real Estate career to the wilds of Northern New Mexico to pursue my dream to establish a regenerative farm that would become a place to not only nourish and heal our bodies but our hearts and spirits as well. 

Outwardly, the process of finding the farm and allocating the resources to purchase happened seamlessly. But the full story is much more complex. 

Fifteen years earlier, I was inspired to start a career in Real Estate to care for my family and learn business skills to eventually purchase and pursue a vision to one day acquire a farm in Northern California, near my family. One of the prime skills I was guided to pursue during this time was the application of trust and intuition to sales and marketing. At first, my personality and mind often overrode my guidance. But, over time, with practice, my trust grew. I learned to listen to the “still small voice” when making strategic moves.

While the vision of the farm community never left me, I became too busy in my career to pursue my original inspiration. One thing led to another, and the Real Estate career took off. Despite my preoccupation with career success, something continued to nudge me back to the original vision. I could sense that I was being guided. Annually, I would do a vision process to map out that year’s goals. Each time, my guidance would show me the farm. It was my big WHY. Yet, outwardly I was just building my career and caring for my family.

Back to 2021… Once the dust had settled on my new move onto the farm,   I began to reflect on how I had ended up on a mature farm at the foot of the Sangre De Cristo mountain range, far from the west coast and the busy Bay Area lifestyle.

I could see how the groundwork had been laid out 15 years earlier. It was by learning to listen and follow my guidance that the eventual pathway to the farm had been created.

The pivotal moment had come in late 2020. I had just decided that the original vision was a fantasy and was never going to happen.

But, my soul had other plans for me...  At that time, Covid plus persistent regional fires drove me to take a short personal break. I was headed to Bend, Oregon, when it, too, erupted with forest fires. Something inside me just whispered, "Go to Taos, New Mexico." It had been decades since I had briefly visited and it was definitely NOT on my mind, but my intuition told me it was the place to be.  After all those years of training myself to listen and act on my intuition, I knew I had to follow through. So, instead of going to Bend, in late 2020, I found myself heading out of town to Taos. 

This ability to act on guidance proved pivatol for what was about to happen over the ensuing months.

When I returned from my initial short sojourn to New Mexico, after having given up on the farm dream, I received a call from someone I had briefly reconnected with while in Taos, who offered me the chance to buy their farm. It was then that the vision inside of me fully caught fire. Even though I had a thriving career in California and didn't have the finances lined up, I knew I had to go. It was not a rational, financially intelligent move. And it was not where I originally thought a farm project should be. But, my years of listening to my intuition had trained me for this moment, Terrified, I said yes. 

Resources, that had not been present a few months earlier, showed up instantly once I fully committed, and the purchase happened smoothly. That July, barely three months after the opportunity to purchase my dream farm was offered, I was unpacking the contents of a moving van on a four-acre lush, fruit laden, organic farm. As I stood in my front yard looking up at 13,000 foot Pueblo Mountain from my valley farm, I felt shock, awe, and utter astonishment. My original vision had come about in a way I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams. 

And the skill of listening to guidance that I had honed over those many years in Real Estate? That was the critical piece. By surrendering my the ideas of what this vision needed to look like , something much more magical was allowed to be birthed.

Now, three years later,  I guide people on their journey of connecting to their guidance, discovering their purpose (their why), and helping them clear any blocks in the way of realizing their soul’s calling. I also offer short term farm stays for those interested in pursuing a deeper dive into their soul’s journey.
